This week's show is a favourite of mine. We were able to have an extended show, so I brought in a number of songs that I've been meaning to play for a while, but haven't due to their length. I went to see Joe Claussell with Francois K at 99 Sudbury the weekend before, so I thought it would be great to play some of his remixes for Japanese artists. The two songs are remixes Joe made for Japanese artists Monday Michiru and Misia. They are two of my favourite vocalists and these remixes are just so beautiful to hear, especially if you turn up the volume loud...you can hear the sheer brilliance of the vocals and instrumentation. The Misia track is especially exclusive as the full mixes are only available on 12" vinyl in Japan. I was able to pick up a copy while I was there in January. A shortened radio edit of "Shinin" will likely be made available on a future Misia CD single release in the summer. Enjoy!
